Insurance and Fee for Service

Now accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield

Please be aware that many insurance plans require a mental health diagnosis before they will pay for ongoing therapy services. If you chose to submit a claim for reimbursement, this diagnostic information may become part of your child’s health record. Some parents are comfortable with this situation, while others prefer to have more control over their child’s mental health information. This is a personal decision.

Many children and their families can benefit from therapy, even when they do not have a mental health diagnosis. In some cases, this type of early intervention therapy can prevent more serious problems from occurring. Many insurance plans will not pay for this type of preventative service. You can contact your insurance company directly and ask them about your specific plan.

For those using their Blue Cross plan, all co-pays are due at the time of service.

If you prefer a fee-for-service arrangement, then the full fee for service is due at the time of your scheduled appointment. Fee-for-service clients are eligible for 12% fee reduction when they prepay for sessions in advance.

If you do not have Blue Cross Blue Shield, but would like to use your insurance benefits, I am happy to provide you with a “superbill,” which is an insurance-ready receipt you can use to collect any out-of-network benefits due to you. You can contact your insurance company for more specific information about your out-of-network benefits and their procedure for submitting claims for reimbursement.
